OH nO!!!

So recently I dropped my iPod on the ground getting out of my car. I  didn't care too much at the time I just picked it up and went inside. When I got in I tried to turn it on... it wouldn't start up. After a lot of trouble shooting with my iPod I finally gave up and accepted that yes my iPod was broken and with that no more music.

Just about every morning when I get up one of the first things I do is grab my iPod and start listening, I take a brake from it to take my shower and thats about it; my headphones don't come off until I get to school. When I get home the same thing happens. I put the headphones in and get to work studying, doing homework, or whatever.

Now I am facing a huge change. I no longer have my iPod in the morning, nothing to wake me up, nothing to shut me out from the rest of the world. As I sit writing this blog entry I can't help but long to be listening to one of my favorite songs on my iPod. I always thought that listening to music while doing homework helped me concentrate and stay on task, but now that I haven't had it for a week I'm starting to notice a difference in my ability to get work done. For our recent history test I spent about half the time I usually spend studying and I felt that I may have done even better than I typically do. Maybe my iPod breaking was a good thing for me since it might make me work in a slightly more efficient manner.
However I do wish I had my iPod back than I wish it was broken. Hopefully I can get a replacement soon.

  1. Studying and doing homework with an iPod? This is just my personal preference, but music with homework is like guacamole with peanut butter: they just don't mix. However, I feel your pain. I broke a laptop a few years ago, lost my voice recorder last week, and broke my router two weeks ago.

I can't really say much about the iPod because my iPod Touch is gathering dust, but I try not to be dependent on technology; I wish you the best of luck on getting a replacement. Maybe an iPhone?

  2. No more angry birds?! :( :( oh well. way to look at the positive side though. I find as well that if I'm really trying to think hard about something while I'm listening to the music I tend to just take that as an oppurtunity to focus on the music, which doesn't help anything. Nice post!

  3. My gadgets are like my children. If their performance begins to decline, I sell them on Craigslist.

You should get an iPhone 4G. Gorilla glass is impossible to scratch/break/crush and the metal casing protects the phone.

  4. Wow. That sucks. Check your warranty, maaaaybe it hasn't expired yet. Either way get a new ipod soon so I can continue listening to your music.

  5. I would be lost without my ipod. I definitely couldn't work out without it - it would just be too boring. But I could never do anything resembling studying - reading, grading essays - while listening to music. I must have silence to be productive.

  6. I went through the same thing a few months ago, except my iPod didn't actually break. Something had gotten stuck in the headphone jack, so I couldn't listen to music on my own. If I wanted to hear it, so did everyone else. The worst part was, it "broke" right before we went on a trip to California. I spent several plane rides without my music, and that was very upsetting.

  8. This happened to me a couple months ago after I lost my ipod. I was pretty heartbroken since I listen to music constantly. I used to go on really long walks with my ipod-- now I have to be content to hum to myself. I still haven't managed to buy a replacement and its starting to really bug me
